What are your hours?+
Both Athens locations are open 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, seven days a week.
What time is last wash?+
Last wash is 9:00 PM at both locations so every load has time to finish drying before we close at 10:00 PM.
Where are you located?+
We have two Athens, Alabama laundromats: 209 Highway 31 and our North Jefferson Street location. Both are locally owned and operated.
Do you accept coins?+
Yes. The Bubble Hut is a true coin laundry with a coin changer on site. You can also scan the QR code on any machine to pay from your phone, use the Speed Queen payment center (cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay), or pay with the Speed Queen mobile app — which earns rewards on every dollar spent plus a $2.00 bonus for every $20 you add.
Can I pay with my phone?+
Yes. Scan the QR code on the machine to pay from your phone, use the Speed Queen payment center for cards and Apple/Google Pay, or download the Speed Queen app, add funds and start any washer or dryer from your phone. The app also notifies you when your cycle finishes.
What size washers do you have?+
We run 20 lb, 40 lb, 60 lb and 80 lb washers at both locations, plus 100 lb washers at North Jefferson.
Do you have large-capacity washers?+
Yes — large-capacity washing is what we are known for in Athens. Our 100 lb washers at North Jefferson can handle several baskets of laundry or a king comforter in a single load.
How much do the washers cost?+
20 lb $3.75, 40 lb $6.00, 60 lb $8.00, 80 lb $10.50 and 100 lb $12.50. Dryers start at $0.50 for a 30 lb, $1.50 for a 45 lb and $2.00 for a 75 lb.
What is the Wednesday wash special?+
Every Wednesday our 20 lb washers are only $2.00 — the cheapest wash in Athens on a $2 Wednesday.
Do you offer Wash & Fold?+
Yes. Drop your laundry off and we wash, dry and fold it for you.
How much does Wash & Fold cost?+
Everyday laundry is $1.50 per pound. Bulky items are priced per piece — for example a king comforter is $20 and a pillow is $5.
Which location offers Wash & Fold?+
Wash & Fold is offered at our Highway 31 location, with staffed hours Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Lockers make drop-off and pickup easy outside those hours.
Do you wash comforters?+
Yes. Wash them yourself in our 80 lb or 100 lb washers, or leave them with Wash & Fold at Highway 31 ($12 twin, $15 full, $18 queen, $20 king).
Do you wash blankets?+
Yes — blankets are $10 each through Wash & Fold, or wash your own in any large-capacity machine.
Do you wash rugs?+
Yes, washable rugs are $20 each through our Wash & Fold service at Highway 31.
Do you offer commercial laundry services?+
We do. Athens and Limestone County businesses get 10% off commercial accounts. Request pricing from our Commercial Laundry page.
Do you work with hotels?+
Yes. We serve hotels, short-term rentals, restaurants, salons, spas, gyms and more — including as a backup when an on-site washer or dryer goes down.
